Department History

Prof. V.B Hiremath was the founder lecture of the Department of Education. He joined in the year 1974-75 and headed both the departments of Psychology and Education. It was under him that, the departments flourished with the founding of separate department of Psychology in 1979 he took the sale charge of the Department of Education. He retired in the year, 2006 after a fruitful teaching career. After retirement of Prof. V.B Hiremath, Dr.Raju.G, has Appointed as Lecturer in Education on 27th December 2007. His appointment approved by the Commissioner of Collegiate Education Government of Karnataka on 09-06-2008. Presently working as an Associate Professor and Head in Department of Education

Department Vision

Education means an attempt to mould the behaviors of the pupils. It aims to produce desirable changes among students for all-round development of their personality. Education aims at good citizen. In this direction, the department of education is working hard to fulfill the needs of students and train them to meet the challenges of modern world.

Department Objectives

To impart in-depth knowledge in the subject of Education.

To help the students for All-round development of personality.

To inculcate right values and Skills among students while encouraging healthy competition.

To help the students to understand the Philosophy of Life.

To equip the students with necessary analytical and reasoning skills for understanding various Educational Problems through various educational activities.

To provide the foundation for studying branches of Education.

To produce society sensitive citizens.

To Inculcate research potentialities of the students through the Project Work, Research Oriented Seminars, Workshops, Group Discussions, Literacy Programmes etc.
